| Gupta ridicules government approach in containing, inflation, price rise | | | Early Times Reporter

Questioning the bona fides of the Congress-led coalition of the state for sorting out the problem through dialogue, the former Union Minister and a senior BJP leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has observed that the ruling leaders of the state and their allies are loudly advocating “BAAT BANEGI BOLI SE” for having talks with the ‘gun wielding terrorists’ but it was strange that those who are agitating through peaceful means to get redressal of their problems in Jammu and Kashmir, are being overlooked. This raises many issues that whether the leaders of this coalition are out deliberately to harm people who believed in peaceful modes of struggle for seeking justice.
Responding to the complaints of the vegetable growers and a group of the vegetable sellers, Prof. Gupta ridiculed the government’s approach in containing the inflation and rise in prices. He said instead of making amends in their basic policies and set their own house in order, a deliberate fuss is being created by taking certain impractical measures, and that too, without making any alternate arrangements to meet out situation arising out of their ill-conceived steps.
The vegetable growers complained that they are faced with big losses as there was strike by the vegetable sellers and their vegetables worth lakhs have rotten because of the government step.
The group of vegetable sellers explained their own problems in abiding by the rate lists being provided by the government authorities.
The BJP leader remarked that this indicated that how much this government is incompetent and having no vision as their approach to check the price rise, have put the whole people to face problems which are being created ignoring the democratic approach to sort out small issues like that of fixing certain sale rates, and that too, of vegetable and fruits.
Prof. Gupta said that the uncalled for fussy situation is being created not only on the issue of sale rates of vegetables and fruits but also there are numerous other small issues which have come to be big ones but for lack of competence.
In this regard, he pointed out that this Congress- led dispensation had assumed the reins of power with the main slogan of introducing work culture but the plight of this culture can be well imagined that the clerks and some other sections of the administration are on strike for about two to three months. The work in government offices is being badly affected but instead of opting for realistic approach to sort the genuine problems of the employees and workers, a strange approach is being adopted to drag on the problems without bothering about the difficulties being faced by the common people in government offices.
There are several other government employees and organizations including the unemployed youths like the engineers, technocrats and many others who are staging dharnas and demonstrations for months together but this government is virtually proving most irresponsive. The situation indicates whether they deserve to remain in power for a single day, he added and asked the visitors to teach a lesson to these rulers as not much time had left in throwing them out so as to bring an end of their type of anarchy. |
