Ever since Captain Megha Razdan ended her life in a military camp on the outskirts of Jammu city, around ten months back, her same rank colleague and husband has all along been blamed for forcing her to take the extreme step.
However, if the report of a Narco Analysis Test of Captain Chatanya Bhtwadekar –Megha’s husband –is any guide to go by, the facts were other round. It was not Chatanya’s extramarital affairs which stressed Megha but actually Megha’s pre-marital life which made their relation uncomfortable.
The Narco Analysis Test (NAT) reveals that barely one month after the marriage, problem had aroused in between them and they were not getting time to sit and discuss the problem between them, as the army life was not giving them time for discussion.
"Megha was depressed and hence she ended her life", Chaitnaya reportedly told investigators in a state of trance during his narco analysis test conducted at the Forensic science laboratory in Banglore.
As per NAT report claims that Captain Chaitanya has revealed that his wife Megha had friendship with Vishwas for past two to three years. “Megha felt that they got married hurriedly, without informing Vishwas. She felt it was the wrong decision which they had taken, and wanted to go back and join Vishwas even after their marriage, Chaitanya said in trance during his narco analysis in Banglore.
Captain Chaitanya has also revealed during his narco analysis that he never used to fight with Megha and was always cooperative and also consoled her.He said to remove Vishwas out of her mind she needed some time and pressure of work was some what that they hardly used to interact with each other.
He said on the day of the incident both did not have their breakfast nor had their lunch.They were working on their individual laptops on some official assignment.
He said by afternoon tea was prepared for both. Chaitnaya asked her to stay back on that day so that they can come to some decision. Megha started discussing about Vishwas. Chaitanaya said, “he convinced her saying that they will personally go to Vishwas. he also told her that he will convince her parents as well as his parents. Chaitanya said no body can undertand them and hence both of them planned for committing suicide.
In this context he informed that his role was like that of Shahrukh Khan of Bazigar. He said in the last week of July they had decided to apply four day leave and do tho their parents house and inform them about their marriage and to convince them and get a suitable solution. He said he had decided to call his parents from South Africa and Megha can stay with them at Kholapur for some days. He said he had also convinced her saying that the next Sunday,he had planned to go to Pathankot and convince her parents about their marriage. Megha had agreed to his plans.
He said the suicide note was typed by her. He was not sure whether she had typed it in his laptop or her laptop and had taken the printout of the same in his office. Her mother, he said had stayed with them just few days before and it was the only time Megha was happy. Captain Chaitanaya revealed that he along with Mehga Razdan had decided to commit suicide as the society was not allowing them to live.As per the plan she was first to die and chaitanya to follow later. He said as per their plan he helped her to tie the knot to hang, As she was unable to reach the top he helped her in doing so. He said he was sure that she would commit suicide on that particular day.He said when he left the house to market she was crying and closed the door. Regarding bed sheets put to windows he said his wife during changing her dress had put bed sheets to the windows as there were no curtains. He said Megha did not like the army life and always used to complain about her dislike towards the army. She had even informed her sister and once her sister had informed this to the commanding officer. He said he had never taken any signature of her on a blank paper and also never written any suicide note. Captain Chaitnaya is serving judicial remand after he was arrested on charges of abetting suicide of his wife Megha Razdan on April 1. 2008 |
