| Patil arrives today on 4 day visit | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 22 President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil will arriving in Srinagar tomorrow on a four day official tour of Jammu and Kashmir. The President has an elaborate tour program of the state even the state government has not officially announced the itinerary. According to an official communiqué of the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the President, Pratibha Devisingh Patil shall be visiting Jammu and Kashmir to see the forward areas and spend time with the Jawans. She will be addressing the Jawans and have lunch with the troops. This will be the first time that Smt. Patil will be visiting the forward areas as well as Jammu and Kashmir after becoming the President of India. The President will leave for Jammu and Kashmir on May 23, 2008. During her visit, she will deliver the Convocation address of the Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar and inaugurate the Institute of Kashmir Studies at Kashmir University also in Srinagar. Smt. Patil will be inaugurating the University Complex at Bhadarwah on May 25, 2008. In Jammu, the President will also participate in the Convocation of the Sher-I-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology on May 26, 2008. Thereafter, from Jammu, the President will be traveling to Himachal Pradesh on a State Visit and shall participate in official functions. The President will return to New Delhi on June 1, 2008. |
