| Coalition govt to restore peace with dignity: Baig | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | May 23 Jammu and Kashmir deputy chief minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig today said the coalition government has resolved to restore peace in the state. It has been the endeavour of the government to restore peace with dignity in the state, Baig said at the inaugural function of a government degree college in Anantnag. Baig said that within span of about five years three new universities, 40 degree colleges and a number of schools have been upgraded so that people living in remote areas get the state-of-art facilities within their reach. He said it was due to sustained efforts of the coalition government that various trans-LoC routes were opened to build better people to people contacts and explore the possibility for carrying out trade and commerce with Pakistan on these routes. The governments of India and Pakistan have understood the need for mutual cooperation and co-existence and major headway has been achieved in solving certain bilateral problems which would pave way for better and harmonious ties between the two neighbours and sub-continent as a whole, he said. |
