| Appoint petitioner as JE (chemical): HC directs state | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 23 Justice YP Nargotra of J&K High Court Jammu Wing in a petition filed by Sanjeev Thappa, has directed the respondents to issue appoint order in favour of the petitioner within four weeks. The petitioner had appeared in the selection process and was recommended for appointment by the J&K Service Selection Board but the state failed to issue appointment order in favour of the petitioner. Justice Nargotra, after hearing Adv Nitin Bhasin appearing for the petitioner, SC Gupta AAG appearing for the state and Adv SK Shukla appearing for the SSRB, observed that it is admitted case of the respondents that the matter is under consideration as disclosed in the objections so the fact remains that despite the lapse of more than two years the state has not taken a decision on the issue and the petitioner though selected for appointment is still awaiting appointment order. AAG Gupta does not dispute the fact that the entire select list has already been exhausted by appointing all the candidates except of the Junior Engineer Chemical. Court in this view of the matter disposed off this petition with a direction to respondents to issue appointment order in favour of petitioner within a period of four weeks. The petitioner's appointment shall be made from the date when other selected candidates were appointed, though notionally without any pecuniary benefits, but for the purpose of the seniority alone.
