Rajouri LoC villagers threaten mass agitation over Niaka school row
7/20/2019 12:37:53 AM
Early Times Report

Rajouri, July 19: People living in villages close to Line of Control in Rajouri's Tarkundi area have threatened mass agitation against school education department for ignoring recently upgraded government higher secondary school Niaka Panjgrian.
A deputation of villagers from the area headed by sarpanch Abdul Hussain and comprising senior citizens including Naib Sarpanch Mohammad Younis, panches Zamurd Khan, Mahroof Khan, Zakir Hussain, Chairman Mohammad Bashir and others also met deputy commissioner Rajouri and put forth their demand.
Villagers said that government high school Niaka Panjgrian was upgraded as higher secondary school in the start of this year and first batch of 11th class has also started in the school.
Villagers added that soon after the upgradition of school, the existing headmaster of high school was shifted but since four months, no principal for higher secondary has been posted while not even a single lecturer has been posted to teach the students.
They further said that only seven teachers who were already posted are teaching around 400 students pursuing education in the school which is grave injustice.
" We live along Line of Control and government authorities are completely ignoring our areas and pushing future of our children in darkness," said villagers who added that everyone in the area is ready to sit on indefinite agitation against school education department.
Villagers also alleged that the matter was time and again brought into the notice of chief education officer Rajouri who assured to bring an end to the problem but his promises have fallen flat.
