Silt flushing of Dulhasti Dam: Doda administration issues advisory

DODA, July 19: District Administration Doda has asked the general public to keep away from river Chenab on July 21, 2019 in view of silt flushing of Dulhasti dam reservoir.
As per a communiqué, the management of Dulhasti Power Station of NHPC Limited has cautioned general public of Kishtwar and Doda districts not to move near Chenab river on July 21 from 00:00 hours to 18:00 hours as power station dam shall be opened for periodic silt flushing during this period, the water level of Chenab River may rise by 2-3 metres temporarily during the aforementioned time.
The people are requested not to venture near the River bank. They should also avoid taking their cattle, trucks and vehicles to the River side.
