| 6 thousand children forced to sit for 8 hours | | Bhaderwah Campus inauguration | | Early Times Reporter Bhaderwah | May 25 Over six thousand children drawn from all across Bhaderwah Tehsil holding political placards were forced to sit for eight long hours to wait for the arrival of president Pratibha Patil who had to cancel her visit here today due to inclement weather conditions. President who is on a five-day visit to state was scheduled to inaugurate newly constructed Jammu University extension Campus in the hill bound town of Bhaderwah. School children who had started gathering at the University Campus located near Sungli village early in the morning at 7 am had pay for non of their fault as there were no arrangements put in place of drinking water or refreshment. As per the sources the reception committee constituted by the local Congress had 'ordered the education department to ensure participation of minimum 100 students from every area'. Sources within education department said that there were no arrangements for transporting the students to function venue about located about three kilometers from the main town and about fifteen kilometers away from the last village Seri of the Tehsil. The students and staff accompanying them were forced to either borne the transport fares from their own pocket or walk all the way on foot to reach the function venue, sources added. " The students were seen running here and there for water and food as the administration had made no adequate arrangements fro drinking water at least not even for the children" said a upset teacher who was having a tough time to control the children. |
