DDC Doda fixes enrollment targets for various departments

DODA, July 22: District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode, today convened a meeting to review the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) scheme in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma, Dy. Director Employment Shaista Parveen, CAO, CMO, Dy-SP Doda besides District heads of various departments and other senior officials.
During the meeting, District Development Commissioner fixed the targets for enrolment of beneficiaries under the scheme directing the concerned officers to achieve the targets in full.
He also asked the officials to create awareness among the people regarding the schemes so that deserved persons are enrolled in these schemes.
Giving details, Deputy Director said the scheme is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme for the unorganised workers mostly engaged as home-based workers, street vendors, mid-day meal workers, head loaders, brick kiln workers, cobblers, rag pickers, domestic workers, washermen, rickshaw pullers, landless labourers, own account workers, agricultural workers, construction workers, handloom workers, leather workers, audio-visual workers and similar other occupations whose monthly income is Rs 15,000 per month or less and belong to the entry age group of 18-40 years.
The DDC asked the officers to promote the scheme through various modes of communication in every corner of the district including print, electronic and social media.
He also asked the concerned authorities to share the numbers of all the VLE'S and CSC operators with all the participants present in the meeting to expedite the process of enrolment in the district within the stipulated time.
