| Services blanks Nagaland, Manipur beat Orissa 7-2 | | 62nd Santosh Trophy Football Cluster-II | | Early Times Reporter

The star studded side of Services today routed Nagaland in a one-sided contest 8-0 while Manipur outplayed Orissa 7-2 to consolidate their position in a league match of Cluster-II in the ongoing 62nd National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy, here.
Completely dominating the field, Services scored the first goal in the 20th minute through Shaji Disilva, followed by the second netted by S Raleng five minutes later. Other goals were scored by Gorden Z (45th), L B Victor (63rd), Shiji De Silva (71st) and L B Victor (81st, 78th) and Sudhir Mishra.
Earlier, before the start of the match, both the teams had introduction with president of the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA), Jameer Ahmed Thakur, who was accompanied by office bearers of the Association.
The second match of Cluster-II, played in the evening session at GGM Science College, Manipur defeated Orissa 7-2 in a well contested game. Though playing with three internationals to their side, Manipur still faced difficulty in making a break through. Instead, Orissa netted the ball for the first goal in the 38th minute but only to see Jotin Singh equaling in the very next move. Bhawani Mohanty scored for Orissa. The first half ended with score board reading 1-1draw level.
After the breather, the collective efforts from international trios of Vijayan Singh, Jotin and Samson Singh changed the face of the game. As many as four goals were added by Manipur in a row within a time span of 25 minutes which brought the team to an unbeatable position. Vijayan Singh (55th, 77th) and Raju Mangang (61st, 82nd) scored two goals each, while Khelemba Meiti (67th) and K Samsan Singh (70th) contributed one each. From Orissa, Dilip scored the second gaol in the 74th minute to reduce the margin 7-2.
