Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 27 Jammu wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has finalized the arrangements for the Hot Weather limited overs Cricket Tournament in the name of Prof Pran Nath Malhotra at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. The competition, wherein 21 teams from affiliated clubs and district units have confirmed their entries, shall start from June Ist. The opening match is scheduled to be played between Rajouri district and UCC Udhampur at 8.30 am. Divided into two pools, as many as 11 teams have been given bye so as to make the position clear for pre-quarterfinals. “In this tournament, we have issued certain guidelines to the participating clubs and districts in order to make the event serve its purpose,” joint secretary of the Jammu wing of the JKCA, Sunit Sharma told Sports & Allied News. As per the guidelines, it is important for each club fielding its playing XI, to include at least three players from under-19 group. “To verify that those in the playing XI are actually from under-19 group, we have asked the teams to bring attested copies of matriculation certificate as age proof of such players. Moreover, the age proof certificate submitted with the organizing committee will be recorded in the official record of the Association,” maintained Sunit. He further said that any wrong proof of age submitted by any player will lead to his disqualification from all events conducted by the JKCA and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), including the ongoing competition. The competition upto the quarterfinals level will be of 40 overs while the semi-finals and final will be of 50 overs a side. The participating teams: Pool-A: RCC Jammu, Rajouri district, UCC Udhampur, Kishtwar district, Jammu University, KCC Srinagar, PCC Jammu, WCC Srinagar, NCC Jammu.
