| BJP tells workers to scrutinise voters’ lists | | Party’s victory in J-K elections would be in national interest: Khajuria | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 29 Reflecting on the significance of the impending assembly elections in the state, BJP state president Ashok Khajuria today urged the booth committee members to minutely scrutinise the voters’ lists so that no political party could vitiate the voting process and BJP comes out of this exercise with flying colours. He told them that the victory of the BJP in the assembly elections is not only imperative but also in the national interests in the sense that the Congress, the PDP and the NC have vitiated the whole atmosphere by giving an emotional orientation to the issues facing the nation in Jammu and Kashmir. Ashok Khajuria further told them that the NC’s demand for greater autonomy, the PDP’s demand for self-rule, demilitarization and joint-control and the Congress’s ambivalent attitude to these demands have created a situation in Jammu and Kashmir where the patriotic forces are finding themselves at the receiving end and added that this has made it all the more necessary for BJP cadres in general and booth committee members in particular to work day and might so that all the negative forces are defeated as it happened only recently in Karnataka. Ashok Khajuria spoke in details regarding the policies of the Congress-led ruling coalition and expressed disgust, saying that the present dispensation has cross all the limits in order to harm the legitimate general political and economic rights of the people of the Jammu province in particular. He informed then that the BJP would soon organize workshops at mandal levels where the issues of state and national import would be discussed in details. He also informed them he would discuss the prevailing political situation in the state in the National Executive meet to be held at New Delhi from June 1st to 2nd. |
