| Woman rafter dies as boat capsize | | | Early Times Reporter

A woman rafter was killed and five others were injured when their rafting boat capsized in River Lidder in Phalgamn area.
Eyewitnesses told that a Rafting Boat with six persons on board overturned near Yanner after the rafters failed to drew it against the strong water currents. The persons on board were carried away by the strong water currents to long distances and suffered injuries. All the six persons were rescued by local people who were later shifted to district Hospital Anantnag. However a woman succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
The deceased woman has been identified as Sharda wife of Sri Nivasan resident of Hyderabad. |
