Minister for Social Welfare Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil said today that Nehru family symbolizes secularism and development. "All icons of this great family have been devotionally supporting progress and development of J&K", he said.
He was addressing a public meeting at Kulgam. MLC Mr. Mohammad Amin Bhat and youth leaders Mohammad Iqbal Jan, Javaid Ahmad Magray and Peer Nizam-ud-Din were present on the occasion.
Mr. Vakil Said UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi has been continuously ensuring massive funding to catapult all round development in J&K with special emphasis on construction of infrastructure in critical sectors to build modern J&K where every body was happy secure and prosperous. "Supporting Nehru family was synonyms with lending support to progress, peace and development", he added.
The Minister said it was in the interest of State's people to back up Congress, which he said alone has the potential to secure financial support from Congress rulled centre for addressing employment and development issues. Cautioning people to remain vigilant of populist slogans being floated by regional political outfits about unemployment, he said joblessness was their creation. We cannot even meet our wage bill by our own financial resources how. How can we talk about addressing this crucial issue on our own", he added.
Vakil said exploitative forces were busy in inventing populist slogans for capturing power. Little they know that Azad-led government has performed on all fronts too better to be dampened by political stunts. He said regional parties can never develop the state to the highest level, for want of influence and capacity at central level.
In his speech, Mohammad Amin Bhat highlighting the development scenario of Kulgam informed that besides granting district status to Kulgam and Tehsil status to Devsar and Noorabad bed strength of Kulgam hospital has been increased to 200 by Azad government. This a part, he said Qazigund-Kulgam road was being upgraded at a cost of Rs.22 crore and Development Authority was established at Aharbal to bring it on tourist map by our government.
