Completely dominating the fields, Domana zone boys clinched both under-14 and under-17 Kho-Kho titles in the four-day inter-zonal (boys) competitions organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Government Higher Secondary School Domana on Jammu-Akhnoor road, near here.
In the under-14 year final, Domana outplayed Gandhi Nagar zone by one turn and six points. Later, in the under-17 final, Domana boys trounced their counter parts from Bhalwal zone in similar fashion (one turn and five points).
Earlier, in the under-14 semi-finals, Domana beat Bishnah zone in a close contest 5-4 while Gandhi Nagar zone outplayed Khour zone 5-2. In under-17 semi-finals, Bhalwal zone beat Jammu zone rather easily 6-1 and Domana downed Dansal zone by one turn and two points.
Meanwhile, the Kabaddi under-17 title went to Ghou Manasan zone who beat Jourian zone 43-20 by a comfortable margin. Ashwani Kumar of Ghou Mansan zone emerged as best raider of under-17 group. In the semi-finals, played today, Jourian beat Akhnoor zone 38-24 while Ghou-Manasan defeated Bhalwal zone 43-20.
In Kabaddi under-14 year category, Jammu zone shall take on Akhnoor zone in the final tomorrow, the concluding day of the boys competitions. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Akhnoor zone trounced Jammu zone by a healthy margin of 24 points with scoreboard reading 38-14. In other semi-final, Jourian zone defeated Bhalwal zone 38-17.
In the meantime, Khour zone and Arnia zone have entered the final beating their opponents in straight sets in semi-finals. The results: Khour zone bt Jammu zone 25-6, 25-15; Arnia zone bt Miran Sahib zone 25-10, 25-5.
