| A kidnapping that was different! | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 30 It is a kidnapping story of a different order. Ironically, it happened in the presence of police and large number of passers by. Yet no one could raise the alarm and prevent the kidnapping. No ransom call was made public till the time of filing the report. Surprisingly, no one could come to the rescue of victim being kidnapped despite standing close to the kidnapper. It is a kidnapping story of a puppy separated from its siblings outside Ranbireshwar temple. Passers by in Jammu witnessed a rare sight in the heart of the city near Ranbireshwar temple on Friday morning when they spotted a monkey reportedly dragging away a 'puppy' in the broad day light. Passers by in the area jokingly dubbed it as a kidnapping incident and sounded local police to come to the rescue of the mother bitch running after the monkey in a desperate attempt to recover her puppy. All out efforts made by the bitch yielded no results after over half an hour struggle even as passers by lost hope of puppy joining its siblings. The monkey was last seen jumping from tree branches with a puppy wrapped round his body before entering high security civil secretariat area in the Jammu city. The puppy was desperately clinging on to the lap of the monkey to avoid free fall. Eyewitness reports said one of the Monkeys moving outside the Ranbireshwar temple was spotted by few passers coming close to the puppies kept their in the shadow by their mother dog. "In a flash the monkey jumped and picked one of the puppies and ran towards Civil secretariat complex", Ajay Sharma one of the eyewitnesses said. Large number of passers by in the area were stunned to see the rare sight and were seen catching the glimpse on their mobile phones. “We were waiting for the transport bus when we saw a monkey coming close to the puppies sitting besides mother dog", Sanjay Handoo, a student waiting outside the Shiv temple complex said. Ram Kirpal, a florist sitting in the area who claimed to have identified the monkey said," the monkey was very sad as few days ago one of the monkey died in the area.Dass said finding little puppies playing in the area the monkey must have attracted towards them to fill the void. It remains to be seen whether the local police would register a case of kidnapping and deliver speedy justice.The mother dog was seen guarding other puppies and waiting for the early return of one carried awy by the monkey. |
