| Row over temple management | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 30 A row has erupted over the management of Srinagar's famous Ganpatyar Ganesh Mandir as a section of Kashmiri Pandit leaders proclaiming to be its original members termed the constitution of a new Prabhandak Samiti as unconstitutional and misleading. Claiming to be the president of original Simiti M. L. Koul in a press statement said that the elections held at Srinagar were an attempt to befool and mislead the community members. As per sources the new Simiti has been elected under the chairmanship of T N Ganju wherein Bushan Lal Ganjoo has been elected as the president of the new Prabhandhak Simiti Expressing anguish over the development, Koul said that the Ganesh Mandir Prabhandak Samti was already functioning properly and was doing everything to upkeep the temple and its assets. " The newly formed Samiti for which elections took place recently is sense less as the already existing one in the same name and style has been doing extraordinary well since its inception," Koul added. He further said that the formation of so-called body at Srinagar recently was just an attempt to further their own interests and befool the community members as a whole. Others who attended the meeting included H.N. Jathu, J.L. Shah, B.L. Saraf, D.N. Bhat, Shiban Sumbli and others. |
