| 20 feared drowned in boat tragedy in river Ganga | | |
Hajipur, Bihar, Aug 31 At least 20 people were feared drowned
when a boat capsized midstream in the Ganga near Jafrabad Ghat in Vaishali district today.
District Magistrate Lalan Singh said the boat was ferrying
passengers from Maroofganj of Patna district to Jafrabad.
Five people swam to safety.
He said that divers have been pressed into service to fish out
the bodies.
Senior police and administrative officers were monitoring the
rescue operation. |
