| 30 shops demolished at Miran Sahib | | | Early Times Reporter

During early hours of this morning, 30 shops constructed in the main market of Miran Sahib were demolished by a grand team of revenue and R&B departments.
The agencies claimed that the construction of shops were unauthorized.
As per reports, tension griped the entire market when shopkeepers came to know about demolition operation and they started shouting slogans against the administration and argued with the Tehsildar Babu Ram and AEE (R&B) Sheikh Mohd Saleem present on the occasion.
Local National Conference leader Romesh Mottan, who pacified the agitators and prevented the officials from carrying on demonstration said, that the chief minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad during his last visit here, had assured the shopkeepers that they will be provided alternative site, before demolishing their shops. He said people of the area are not against development of the area, but should be provided with the alternatives, so that they are able to carry their livelihood without any hurdle.
According to Tehsildar, all the shop keepers were served the notice on various occasions, but the shopkeepers took it lightly. |
