| Three militants, SPO among five killed in Kashmir | | |
Srinagar, Aug 31 Three militants and a Special Police Officer (SPO) were among five people killed in Kashmir since last evening, official sources said today.
Militants fired upon an SPO at Lolab in the frontier district of Kupwara late last night. The SPO was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries, the sources said.
They said a woman, identified as Sakina Bano, was killed by unknown persons at her residence at Dawoocha, Rafiabad in north Kashmir's Baramulla district last night.
The sources said two militants were killed by the security forces in a gunfight at Bonigam, Kangan in Srinagar district last evening.
Some arms and ammunition were also seized from the encounter site.
Security forces also killed a militant in south Kashmir last night, they added. |
