| SIA hails CM’s step to save industries | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 30 Save Industries Association (SIA) has welcomed the announcement made by chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on constitution of three-member committee to look into the problems of industrial units in Jammu and Kashmir, including the issues pertaining to excise subsidy rolled back by the central govt about one-and –a –half month back and electricity tariff. As per release, SIA is an association formed with the objective to save the industrial units in and around Jammu from becoming extint because of the non-industry friendly policies of the authorities. At present SIA is being managed by 14-member committee with Dheeraj Gupta as its spokesperson and other members including Saurabh Gupta, Rajinder Bharak, Gaurav Passi, Ram Mohan Reddy and Taranjeej Singh Sawhney. Though the announcement on the committee has come late, yet it has brought certain reprise to the industrial units who were at the brink of the closure in the state after suffering huge losses because of the taking back of the subsidy, the release said. |
