Restrictions lifted from 35 police stations across valley: Govt

Srinagar, 17 Aug: The government on Saturday informed that process of relaxation and easing of restrictions is already in progress and most of the telephone exchange in the valley should be functional by tomorrow evening.

The information was provided by the government spokesperson Rohit Kansal during a presser here. Giving details about the functionality of telephone exchanges, the Kansal said that 17 telephone exchanges have already been made functional and most of the functionality of the most exchange would be restored by tomorrow evening.

He added that in Jammu landlines services are functioning normally, besides, mobile services have also restored in five districts there. Further, the relaxation has been provided in 35 police stations across the valley. He further said the administration is closely monitoring the whole situation and so far no untoward incident has been reported from anywhere in the valley.

Kansal said the plying of public transport normally on the road is a good sign and there are reports that the same has been noticed in rural areas also. He further informed that the schools beginning with primary level shall open from Monday, besides all the government offices will start functioning normally from the same day.

Inspector General of Police, S.P Pani said that the administration is calibrating the situation and in this regard easing in done in gradual manners. He added that so far restrictions have been lifted from the 35 police station which included North, South Kashmir and Central Kasmir.
