| Improving Indo-Pak relations pivotal for prosperity of J&K: Hakeem | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | May 31 Expressing hope that improving relations between India and Pakistan would create more healthy and conducive atmosphere to resolve all pending issues between the two Countries including Kashmir, PDF President and Minister for Transport Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has said that measures taken for restoration of peace in the State during recent years would help for over all development and prosperity. Addressing a well attended public meeting on Saturday at Bagroo in Budgam District, Hakeem Yaseen underlined the need to carry forward the dialogue process and stressed for peace and progress in the State, adding that Indo-Pak friendship is must for development and prosperity of the sub-continent. He said that this is the right time for dialogues to sustain peace in Jammu and Kashmir as well as in sub-continent. He stressed for opening of more links across the LOC to allow meeting of divided families saying that the steps would help to strengthen the confidence building measures. Hakeem Yaseen said that despite challenges the State Government led by Chief Minister Mr. G.N. Azad launched a massive development programme in the State and completed numerous projects costing crores of rupees in shortest possible period to ensure fast track construction of important projects in all public service sectors. He said government accorded priority for the development of neglected and down trodden areas. Mr. Yaseen called for co-ordinated efforts to make the state prosperous adding that the objective of the coalition government was to achieve all round development in the State. He underlined the need to work for the betterment of the State as a whole so that the fruits of the development and welfare schemes reach to the deserving and added that Government was committed to work for the welfare of the people. He said that the development taken place in Social and economic sectors in the State indicates enough of the positive change that has ushered across the State. |
