NDS organises Dogri Sangeet Sandhya

Jammu, Aug 18: A programme titled "Dogri Musical evening" based on Dogri songs was organised by Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) in collaboration with North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) Patiala at K. L. Sehgal Hall, Jammu.
Ashok Khajuria MLC was the Chief guest on the occasion whereas the programme was presided over by Sohail Kazmi, Eminent Journalist. Karunesh Gupta a Social activist was the guest of honour whereas Rohit Choudhary National President Kissan Welfare organisation participated as Special Invitee. Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, Director NZCC and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila also co-shared the dias.
Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, Director North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) Patiala was also honoured with the "Sangeet Shree" Award on the occasion.
Suraj Singh, Vishal Gupta, Pankaj Pradhan, Advocate Nidhi Kaila Choudhary, Marina Jamwal and Nirmal Koul enthralled the audience with their melodious voices which had captivating effect especially Suraj Singh who mesmerised everyone with his golden voice.
Rakesh Anand on Flute, VIjay Anand on Dholak, Chandan Jassu on Synth, Joginder Pal on Tabla and Gara Ram on Guitar and Violin were at their best and created a magic effect by synchronising the voice and musical notes in highly harmonious manner.
The lyricists include Captain Lalit Sharma, Yash Pal Yash and Sanjay Vidrohi.Krishan Lal Mast a Dogri writer also gave a solo presentation on Dafli.Ashok Khajuria in his address congratulated and complemented NDS and NZCC for presenting a quality programme of Dogri songs. He said culture, Art and music has done a great job in integrating , harmonising and synchronising the society and has always infused - the spirit of positivity and peace. Our folk lore and folk music is our strength and reflects our ethos and aspirations he said.
