Anaemia Mukt Bharat: Workshop held

samba, Aug 19: An orientation workshop on Anaemia Mukt Bharat & Vitamin A Supplementation was organised by District Health Society Samba, here today. Organised under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rajinder Samyal, the objective of the workshop was to orient the staff for rolling out the interventions to fight the problem of Anaemia in the district.
A detailed power point presentation was presented by. Dr Kamini Gupta, Dy. Chief Medical Officer Samba. She discussed in depth Anaemia, its symptoms, types, causes, prevention & cure.
The Anaemia Mukt Bharat- initiative aims at to strengthen the existing mechanisms and foster newer strategies for tackling the problem. The strategy focuses on testing & treatment of anaemia in children (6months-10yrs), adolescents (10-19yrs), pregnant & lactating women and non pregnant women in reproductive age group(20-49yrs) using newer technologies, establishing institutional mechanisms for advanced research in anaemia, and a comprehensive communication strategy including mass media communication material. Also present were Block Medical Officer, Ramgarh, Dr Lakhwinder Singh, Block Medical Officer, Purmandal Dr Mehoob Iqbal Khan, Block Medical Officer, Nud Dr S.S Katoch, Dental Surgeon School Health, Dr. Vijay Thappa, Medical Officers from across the district & staff under Programme management units.
