| Shopkeepers protest demolition process | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 31 The inhabitants and shopkeepers of the area adjacent to Jammu Airport resisted the demolition process of commercial establishments and residential houses at the behest of govt. A large number of people including women came out on the Airport Road and blocked if for about three hours. The protest was also joined by former minister and senior vice president Harbans Singh who lambasted over the coalition Govt for anti-people policies. He demanded that before such a demolition govt must ensure rehabilitation and adequate compensation for affected residents. The agitators later shouted slogans against the Congress led coalition govt. Others who also spoke on the occasion were Rajesh Bakshi, NC block president and newly elected cantonment board members Gandhi Singh and Bharat Bhushan. |
