| Minister inaugurates facilities for tourist | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 31 Under border tourism development programme, minister of state for PHE Manjit Singh inaugurated tourist facilities to attract tourists along the border belt of the region. On the occasion, he said tourism department is taking number of measures to develop the circuits includes flower garden at Bhor camp, Nai Basti-Gulabgarh, Gharana Bird sanctuary, Chamblyal, Swankha village and Thandi Khui. At Chamblyal is the holy shrine in the remembrance of great saint Baba Deep Singh Manhas, also known as Baba Chambalyal, a transborder mela is held every year in the month of June/July in the remembrance of Baba Chambalyal. Devotees from all parts of Northern India as also across the border participate in this mela. The shrine is famous for its soil (sakkar) and water (Sarbat), which are believed to have power of healing skin diseases. Devotees from all religion come to this place for ’Darshan’. And those who are suffewring from skin disease, stay here for treatment with sakkar and sarbhat and returning back completely cured. |
