| Hoteliers hold interactive session | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 31 In an interactive session between the top police officers in Jammu and the executive members of All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association held here, issues concerning with security in the city was discussed threadbare. As per a press release, the meeting which was convened by the DIG Jammu-Kathua range Farooq Khan was attended by SSP Jammu, SP Jammu City, DSP of the area and other police officials. From the association side, Inderjit Khajuria president of the association, H S Manhas, Vice President, Pawan Gupta Gen Secy, Baldev treasurer, Ajay Suri, secretary and Vikram Singh, publicity secretary participated in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Frooq Khan laid stress on the hoteliers to thoroughly check the antecedents of all those who check-in in their hotels and all the details of their whereabouts, time of checking in and out as well as the purpose of visiting Jammu be recorded in the hotels registers which will be invariably checked by the police officers on the duty. It was also emphasized that the hotels and lodges should install mechanical and electronic devices to check any harmful object in the luggage of the visitors, while all those checking-in in the hotels without luggage should be particularly subjected to surveillance and watch. While the hoteliers assured of extending all the cooperation to the police in keeping a watchful eye on the suspicious elements, they demanded that any checking of female checking-in in the hotels should be done by the female cops only and in case of their questioning the same should be done either by the female police officers or by the senior police officers, in presence of the males accompanying them. The DIG fully appreciated their concern and assured to plug all the loop holes in the security arrangement and see to it that no undue harassment and inconvenience is caused either to the hotels, lodges owners or the passengers. |
