| `World No Tabacco Day’ observed at Sprawling Buds | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 31 To educate the young students of primary classes about the deadly menace of smoking and in take of other drugs, the teachers of Sprawling Buds presented a skit to mark `World No Tabacco Day’ at the school premises at Chinore in Bantalab, today. Keeping in mind that the teacher is a role model for the students and something meaningful taught by him always inspires the young minds, a skit depicting the story of how smoking is eating out the younger generations in schools and colleges was staged before a gathering of students and prominent citizens. The skit narrated the story of a young college boy who influenced by a bad company how start smoking and then ruined his life. Students were also educated by the speakers including the Directors of the school, Arti Sharma and Savita Khajuria about how smoking and other drugs destroy the lives of younger generation world over. They also laid stress on complete ban on exposure and publicity, especially at public places, to any kind of tobacco product. Stress was also laid on minimizing the use of such harmful tobacco products within homes and subsequently, the students were told to make a beginning from their elders at home and stop if any body around them smokes. The initiative by the management of Sprawling Buds was appreciated by the special invitees, Corporator Jammu Municipal Corporation, Subash Chander and Sarpanch, Sukhdev Singh. Later, Principal of Sprawling Buds, Pooja Sharma presented a detailed report on the importance of `World No Tabacco Day’. She also thanked special invitees for joining the school in highlighting the effects of smoking of young generation. |
