| Hike in cutback benefits for Baghliar workers | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 1 Baghliar Hydroelectric Power Project Workers would get henceforth 6.5 time's more than legal retrenchment benefits besides Rs. 480 as additional monthly benefit. The project benefits to workers of the project have come through an agreement between J.P. Company and the workers Union. According to the new agreements the workers would hence forth get 6.5 time's more than legal retrenchment benefits and Rs. 480 as monthly benefit to the workers of the project. The announcement about the new agreement was made at a workers rally of Baghliar Hydroelectric Power Project in Chanderkote, District Ramban, which was also attended by State Secretary CPI (M) and State President CITU Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami. Speaking on the occasion, Tarigami urged for effective implementation of labour laws, stopping of police interference in labour issues, release of the wages of workers working in Public Sector Units, handing over of Dalhusti and Salal projects to the State, early construction of newly identified Power projects at Dulpakka, Sawalakote and Karthai and engagement of retrenched workers of Dulhasti and Baghliar in these projects. |
