Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 1 The 38th death anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath was observed by the Confederation of SC, ST, OBC here today. While paying homage to the martyr, state president of confederation R.K. Kalsotra said Bhagat was a ‘messiah’ of the down trodden people of the state and sacrificed his life for their upliftment on June 1st 1970 in front of civil secretariat. He on the occasion exhorted the people to follow the foot steps of Bhagat ji. Kalsotra on the occasion urged upon community members to continue struggle for the enactment of Reservation Act in the state and modification of SRO 294 and also lauded the role of all communities, Organizations, social workers and other people who participated in various activities for compelling Govt of the day to amend the SRO 294. Others who spoke on the occasion were Mohd. Ab. Choudhary, Piran Ditta, Shah Mohd., K.D. Dalmotra, Vijay Gill, Narsingh Dass, Puran Chand Bhagat, Roshan Din Choudhary, Darshan Bhagat, Dr. A.C. Bhagat, Chaman Lal Kandley, Rohit Verma and Romesh Sarmal. |
