Jammu | June 1
‘Kafan’ (the shroud) a play in Hindustani based on Munshi Prem Chand’s famous short story was staged at Natrang Studio. Giving details of the play Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said here today that Munshsi Prem Chand wrote this story about one hundred years ago on the evils of alcoholism and the story seems to be so relevant and close to the contemporary times.
The play shows that people ruin their life and lives of their dependants in lust of alcohol. Set at a village where everything is ruled by a village landlord, a father-son duo is shown addicted to liquor. They have nothing to eat and feed their family but they will go out of ways to muster resources for the acquisition of liquor.
Gaurav Jamwal and Rohit Verma played the role of dunked father son duo and lived their suffering in a highly professional manner. Mohit Sharma as landlord demonstrated his command over handling of a matured character.
