| NMC demands regularization of daily wagers | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 1 National Mazdoor Conference has appealed the committee of secretaries headed by union cabinet secretary to gives its suggestions forth with on the anomalies in the proposed pay structure, recommended by a pay panel. Addressing a largely attended NMC workers’ rally today, president NMC Subhash Shastri said the pay revision is due from January 2006 and express his concern that there is still confusion over the implementation of 6th pay commission report that needs to be removed once for all. He further suggested that there should be similar pay structure, perks, and allownces to the salaried class throughout the country in view of globalization and hand some package offered by the private sector as to their staff also steep hike in prices of essentials and cost of living. While appreciating the announcement made by the State Govt. that the recommendations of the 6th pay commission will be implemented in totto as a soon as the centre does so, Shastri said that J&K will be the first State in the Country to implement the 6th Pay Commission recommendations after the same are given practical shape by the centre. He also stressed for declaring Jammu and Srinagar as B-1 Cities and demanded regularization of daily Wagers of Rural development, Sericulture, Floriculture and Power development department, besides releasing cola installments in favor of Public Sectors employees, release of salary of motivators working in the IWDP Project Akhnoor and enhancement of the daily wagers from Rs70 to Rs. 150 per day. Among those who also addressed the rally included Rajan bnabu, Sunil Kocchar, Sham Lal Sharma, lalit Kumar Sharma, Barkat Ram, Madan Lal, Roshan Lal, Bodh Raj, Mohd. Farooq, Sukh Dev Singh and Sham Singh. |
