Jammu, Aug 25: Runners across various age groups participated in the Jammu Half marathon second edition first promo run held today.
The run starting from the Jammu University main gate while passing through the roads of Panama Chowk, crossing the Green Belt park and finally culminating back at the University main gate with the message of plogging "Clean India" and "Say No to drugs , Yes to sports "
Jammu athletes club is the first club of Jammu to organise the professionally managed international standard Jammu Half Marathon in 2018 and was ranked no. 10 all India. Today Jammu athletes club becomes the first club of Jammu and Kashmir to introduce the concept of PLOGGING in Jammu and Kashmir.
'Plogging' is a Swedish fitness trend that combines running with picking up litter. This trend encourages runners to pick up litter while out running. So, it's not just good for your health, it's also good for the environment.
Promoting healthy lifestyle and bringing the concept of ascribed marathon to the city, runners from Jammu Athlete Club (JAC) and Jammu Runners Group (JRG) along with others called upon health and fitness conscious citizens to take up running as a healthy habit and come forward and support the Second Edition of Jammu Half Marathon, an initiative by Jammu Athlete Club.
