| Four militants killed in encounters | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | June 2 Four Lashkar-e-Toiba militants, including a district commander of the outfit, were killed in separate encounters with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla and Kupwara districts, official sources said. Self-styled commander of LeT Usma Nhai and his associate Abu Jibran were killed in a gunbattle with security forces at Chuntipora village in Handwara area of Kupwara district, the sources said. They said that the slain militants were believed to be Pakistan nationals. In a separate operation, a gunbattle broke out between LeT militants and security forces at Watergam village in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district at 8.15 am (IST). Two militants, believed to be foreigners, were killed in the encounter, the sources said. Search operations were on at both the places. |
