All J&K Senior Citizens Welfare Council has urged upon the State Govt to extend Group Medical Insurance facilities to all senior citizens of the State.
Addressing the members of the welfare council, its general secretary J S Mangal said, medical insurance has become necessary due to high cost in medical treatment. He said scheme should be launched on same lines as has been done in the case of State Govt employees.
Persons getting lesser pension are adversely affected as they are not in a position to purchase medicine or afford treatment costs from open market.
