| NNO holds protest against shrine board | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 2 A massive protest rally was organized by Nirbhow Nirvair Organisation (NNO) against the shrine board’s decision to impose fees for darshan at the holy cave shrine of Vaishnodevi. Addressing the protestors NNO president Harjeet Singh said, ‘one fails to understand, who has compelled the shrine board authorities to commercialize the darshan and play with the sentiments of Hindus? He said door of holy temples, gurudawars, mosques and churches are always open for devotees and charging money for darshan is a mockery. He further said charging money for darshan will become unaffordable for middle and poor people who visit the holy shrine in a great number. He urged upon the authorities that doctorial order issued should be kept in abeyance and devotees allowed free darshan at the cave. Among others who addressed the protestors were Ramneek Singh Sassan, Vikram Randhwa, Sarabjeet Singh, Amit Gupta, Kewal Krishan Gupta, Lucky Verma and Bhinder Singh. |
