| India excels in murders | | | New Delhi | June 2
Now, there are no prizes for guessing which country has the highest record of murders in the world; that distinction is reserved for India of course.
Data put together by the National Crime Records Bureau show that the number of murders in India is three times more than that of Pakistan and double that of the United States.
There were more than 32,000 incidents of murder recorded in India in 2007-2008, whereas there were nearly 16,700 in the US and about 9,700 in Pakistan.
India is closely followed by South Africa which registered nearly 31,000 incidents of murders. |
