Gandhi Nagar zone clinched girls under-14 kho-kho trophy beating Akhnoor zone 4-2 in the final of inter-zonal (Girls) competitions of Jammu district underway at Government Higher Secondary School, Domana, near here today.
In the semi-finals, Gandhi Nagar trounced Jammu zone 4-2 while Akhnoor zone outplayed Bhalwal zone 5-4 in a close contest. Earlier, in the quarterfinals encounters, Jammu defeated Khour zone 9-2 and Akhnoor downed R S Pura zone 12-10.
Girls from Miran Sahib zone lifted the under-17 kabaddi title beating Kour zone in the final 43-32. In the semi-finals, played today, Khour zone bat Domana 39-12 pts while Miran Sahib zone trounced Jourian zone 38-21.
The kabaddi under-14 trophy went to Akhnoor zone, who beat Bishnah zone in a one-sided final 27-7.
Meanwhile, Domana zone and Khour zone have made it into the final of kho-kho under-17 final, which will be played tomorrow. In the semi-finals, Domana zone beat Jammu zone by one turn and four points while Khour zone defeated Bhalwal zone 2-1.
The ongoing inter-zonal competitions are being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) as part of their annual activities. |
