| Volleyball: Udhampur, Majalta bag titles | | Inter-zonal competitions of district Udhampur | | Early Times Reporter

Udhampur and Majalta zones shared boys volleyball titles in under-14 and under-17 year group respectively in the annual inter-zonal competitions of district Udhampur organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Navodya Vidyalaya Rakh Jaganoo, near here today.
In the under-14 volleyball, Udhampur defeated Chenani zone in straight sets 25-15, 25-10 while in under-17 final, Majalta zone outplayed Panchari against in straight but close sets of 25-22, 25-17.
Meanwhile, Udhampur made a clean sweep in kho-kho winning both under-14 and under-17 titles in boys and girls sections. In under-14 final, Udhampur zone beat Ramnagar by an innings and 10 points. In kho-kho under-17 category, again Udhampur defeated Ramnagar by an innings and 14 points.
The kho-kho under-17 girls title was also clinched by Udhampur ouptlaying Ramangar by an innings and three points.
In girls under-14 kabaddi final, Panchari zone outplayed Udhampur to clinch the winners trophy.
“The boys kabaddi under-17 final shall be played tomorrow, the concluding day of the competitions at NV Rakh Jaganoo in the morning. Additional District Development Commissioner Udhampur, J L Sharma has consented to be the chief guest in the valedictory function”, District Officer, B L Bhat told reporters. |
