| Chaitanya may have drafted suicide note himself: Police | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 2 Objecting the bail plea of Capt Chaitanya, the husband of Capt Megha Razdan who had committed suicide last year, the prosecution today accused him of having drafted the suicide note himself as a copy of the same was found from his laptop. Meanwhile, the prosecution also brought to the notice of the Court that he used to talk to his Pune based friend for long hours in the night and used to send her around 200 SMSes every day. Capt Chaitanya had earlier claimed that he had sister like relations with Pune based girl Seema Kulkarni. The prosecution, however, contended that no prudent person can speak to a girl for long hours in the dead of night. These facts came fore the Court when the State today filed objections in the bail application of Capt Chanaya husband of deceased Capt Mega Razdan against whom the police has presented challan in the trial u/s 306/498-A RPC. Justice Sunil Hali after hearing the AAG adjourned the case with the direction that on the next date of hearing he will produce the copy of challan. The bail application has been filed through Adv Sunil Sethi on various ground in which State filed objections and seeking dismissal of bail application of Capt Chatnaya. In the objections it has been alleged that alleged suicide note seized from the scene of crime was very cleverly attributed to the deceased but during investigation it has been established that the same was extracted from the laptop belonging to the petitioner. However, this note at the top and bottom contains certain hand-written words. Therefore, the said suicide note has been sent to FSL in order to compare the handwriting of the deceased with those words written on the suicide note. This apart, the statement of certain important witnesses could not be recorded as such an incomplete charge-sheet has been filed in the competent court of law on May 30, 2008 with a prayer to allow the prosecution to file the supplementary charge-sheet after doing the needful. In the objection it has been alleged that mobile phone call and SMS records clearly suggests that the petitioner had been talking to Seema Kulkarni for hours together and passing 150 to 200 SMS everyday. They have been talking to each other in the later hours and no prudent person can support the claim of the petitioner that he had sister like relation with Seema Kulkarni. This is infact a desperate attempt of the petitioner to mislead the court with a view to get released on bail with caring for sanctity of the relationship (brother & sister). This apart, it has also came in the investigation that the petitioner had relations with other girls and police has succeeded to seizing about 200 love letters written by different girl to the petitioner. It is also mentioned in the petition that the parents of Capt Chatnaya working in a company and settled in Sudan. Therefore, there is every apprehension of petitioner jumping bail in case he is admitted to the bail and further seeking dismissal of bail application. |
