Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 3 Two day national seminar on “Cotemporary Issues in Taxation and Finance in J&K” organized by Department of Commerce, Jammu University (JU) begin today at the university. In today’s programme, Virendra Singh, Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K was the chairperson in the first technical session while President Chamber of Commerce, Ram Sahai was the co-chairperson on this occasion. Earlier, Prof. Santosh Gupta HOD Commerce Dept welcome all the dignitaries. Prof. BP Singh, Chairman, Delhi School of Professional studies and Research, Delhi read out the opening remarks about industry-academic interface. Virendra Singh, Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K was the key speaker in the programme and he elaborated upon the different issues related to Finance and Taxation in the State of Jammu Kashmir. Later, a book jointly authored by Prof. Neetu Andotra and Pradyot Gupta on “Elementary Education and Shiksha Abhiyan (2008)” and “Business Studies (Vol.I& Vol.II)” by Dr. Amrik Singh Sudan and Prof. HN Tiwari were released.. In the first session the speakers who put their views on the above said topic included V K Grover, Taxation lawyer, Prof. NS Gupta, Former Dean and HOD Commerce, Jammu University and Prof. BP Singh, Chairman, Delhi School of Professional studies and Research, Delhi. While in the second technical session on banking and finance, Regional Director RBI, OP Agarwal was the chairperson while General Manager J&K Small Industries Development was the Co- Chairperson. The main speakers on the occasion included Prof. TN Mathur, Dept. of Economics, Administration and Financial Management, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, Anil Suri, Chairman Federation of Industries, Jammu and Chairman Citizen Cooperative Bank, Dinesh Gupta. |
