| CM lays foundation stone of new Div Com office complex | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 3 Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad laid the foundation stone of Rs. 12 crore Divisional Commissioner office complex at Rail Head, Jammu, here today. The four-storied building would house official cabins of different officers besides additional facilities of parking lot, conference halls, store, security room, record room. The project is being executed by JKPCC. Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma, Minister for Higher education Gulchain Singh Charak, MOS Power Babu Singh, Advisor to CM Janak Raj Gupta, MLA Raman Bhalla, Mayor JMC Kavinder Gupta, Ex- Mayor Narinder Singh, Corporaters, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sudhanshu Pandey, Managing Director JKPCC and senior officers were present on the occasion. Talking to the media, Chief Minister said that Divisional Commissioner's office, presently located at Mubarik Mandi, would be shifted to this new building as the historical monument has been declared a heritage site. He said that work of restoring the pristine glory of the historical remnant of Duggar history has been started with the constitution of Mubarik Mandi Restoration Committee adding that documentation and face-lifting of the complex is in full swing. He said that experts from Archaeological Survey of India have been roped in to restore the ancient monument's architecture by blending the ancient with the modern without tarnishing the beauty of the original building. Earlier, the Chief Minister inspected upcoming Hospital at Gandhi Nagar being constructed at a cost of Rs. 9 crore. The construction of this prestigious project has been put on fast track and is likely to complete within one year ie. by !5th of June, 2008. He was accompanied by Minister for H&ME Mangat Ram Sharma, Minister for Higher Education Gulchain Singh Charak, MOS Power Babu Singh, Advisor to CM Janak Raj Gupta and MLA Raman Bhalla. |
