Border villagers call on DSS leader

Jammu, Sept 4: People from Bishnah, Arnia and R.S Pura Tehsils today called on Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS (leader) Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak and expressed their happiness on his release from the detention.
They included the local village leaders, Sarpanches/ Panches, Numberdars and Chowkidars of the entire border belt of Jammu.
All of them unanimously condemned the illegal detention of Charak by the police and said that this was against all democratic norms and basic human rights of freedom of expressions.
They further said that Charak is a prominent Dogra leader who always fought for the democratic rights of the people of the state and have been working for preservation of dogra identity, heritage and communal harmony among the people of this region. They demanded a proper enquiry and action against the concerned police personnel under law of the land.
Addressing the gathering Charak expressed his gratitude to the people for expressing their concern over his illegal detention and promised that he would always stand with them during all odds and difficult situations and shall continue his struggle for preserving the history, heritage and culture of patriot Dogras.
Prominent among those who expressed their views on the occasion were Madan Bhagat, Dr. Raghubir Singh, Dr. O. P. Saini, Sdr. Mehar Singh, Capt. Rattan Lal, Dr. Sant Kumar Dingra, Master Chhankar Singh, Balwant Saini and Madan Singh Charak.
