| Labana community hails SRO-144 | | | Early Times Reporter

J&K Labana-Banjara community have hailed the SRO-144 and amendment of SRO-294, which states, ‘a person claiming benefit under weak and under privileged class should be born in that class and not on the basis of actual participating of the occupation by his/her parents’.
Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Ex-member of J&K State Commission for backward classes in a meeting held today, hailed the present government for issuing of the caste certificate on the basis of the caste and not on the basis of occupation.
He also appealed to the certificate issuing authority to help favorable action speedily and urged upon the members of the community to approach the concerned authority to get the certificates issued. The inclusion of the Labana community shall go a long way in changing the facet of the community regarding social and educational uplift.
Prominent who attended the meeting included S. Santokh Singh, Gujral, S. Gurbachan Singh, Ajeet Singh, Retd. Capt. Hazara Singh, S. Ajit Singh, S. Daleep Singh, S. Mohinder Singh, S. Desa Singh and Paramjit Singh. |
