Crime branch has registered a case against Chatter Singh ex-senior lecturer political science, Govt. Higher Sec. School Budhal, Rajouri for submitting forged date of birth certificate.
The facts of the case are that the date of birth of Chatter Singh has been recorded as 24-03-1951 in his service book, but on verification from J&K, Board of School Education, the date of birth of the subject has been found as 24-03-1947. The initiation of vigilance enquiry the subject applied to government for pre-mature retirement which was sanctioned vide Govt. order no. 686-Edu of 2007 dated 04-12-2007, w.e.f 30-11-2007.
The verification reveals that actual retirement of S. Chatter Singh was March 2005, but by furnishing a false date of birth, he remained in service up to 30-11-2007. Thus he remained in service for excess period of two years and 8 months and received excess emoluments of Rs. 5, 80,299. Since the Prema facie offence are proved against the above said person for which the crime br5anch Jammu has taken cognizance for indepth investigation. |
