| Education department takes over disabled hostel | | | Early Times Reporter Leh | June 2 “The LAHDC, Leh is very much determined to create all required infrastructure and schooling facilities to the physically challenged children of this district and council has already taken some important steps in this regard which include allotment of land for construction of hostel for the disabled Children at Chushot.” This was stated by the chief executive councilor, LAHDC, Chering Dorje today on the occasion of taking over ceremony of hostel for children with special needs, ‘Chushot Yokma’ from the NIRLAC, NGO working in Leh. As per a release Dorje highly appreciated the contributions of NIRLAC Who for the first time starred a Hostel for the disabled children four year ago and now the physically challenged children of the district are able to get education as well as other facilities like free frec boarding, lodgings and logistics. The member Parliament, Thustan Chhewang in his address said that through such facilities are the fundamental rights of the disabled children, but this field has been remained neglected in Ladakh in the past. Mr. Thupstan strongly appreciated the initiatives of NIRLAC whose supreme contribution has brought a new hope for the disabled children of Ladakh to lead a normal life and the time has come to join hands of every one to work for the welfare of the disabled children, the release added. |
