| Power cut: Mufti was in no mood to address media | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 4 PDP patron Mufti Mohd Sayeed was boiling hot when he came inside party office after addressing one day long workers convention here today. After wrapping up his speech when Mufti was escorted inside the party office for some rest he was stunned to find that there was no electricity. Exhausted, Mufti headed straight to his office and inquired from his party leaders about the status of power. Several PDP leaders started shouting, "put on the AC to soothe the nerves of Mufti who was mum but visibly finding it difficult to bear the blazing sun. In response another party leader informed 'Batti gul hai, AC kahan se on karein". This message even prompted few other PDP leaders to come to the rescue of Mufti Mohd Sayeed as they volunteered to use newspapers to placate Mufti. Meanwhile, PDP leaders who had invited battery of media persons for an informal interaction with Mufti sahib had to cut a sorry figure as Mufti declined to meet media persons standing outside the office. "Mufti sahib wanted to talk but just now he informed me that he is in no mood to talk to media persons", a Senior PDP leader informed media persons. Before making their exit the media men found Mufti occupying the chair under the fan, the only luxury he could afford under the circumstances.After interacting with party men for some time Mufti left the party office to cool off his heels in his house. On investigations it was revealed that the PDP office had only one inverter set and it powers two rooms only. The rest of the building bear the brunt of unscheduled power cuts by sitting in the lobby and passing time discussing party programs and issues. |
