| CM to inaugurate world environment week at KU | | | Early Times Reporter
Srinagar | June 4
To promote World Environment Day, the University of Kashmir is organizing various events from 5-11 June,2008 aimed at creating awareness on the fragileness of Kashmir valley environments and the increasing pressure they face from forces such as climate change and ill-considered human activity .
Pro- Chancellor Kashmir University and chief minister of the state of J&K Ghulam Nabi Azad will inaugurate the week lon event and Prof Riyaz Punjabi VC KU will preside over the inaugural eventat Ghandi Bhawan on 5th June at 10 AM .
This campaign is about working together to come up with new and exciting ways to make our surroundings greener and respond pro-actively to the changes in our environment especially forest Cover & the water bodies. The slogan for the week long campaign will be Kashmir: the changing landscape . University of Kashmir is organizing variety of Programmes and activities. |
