| Muslim body appeals to lift ban on Madrasas | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 4 All India Muslim Personal Law Board (MPLB) has urged upon the state government to start the madrassa system in the state, on the pattern of the other states of country. Addressing a press conference here today, MPLB president, Allama Taqueer Raza said that the Jammu and Kashmir is the only state where the government has banned the Madrassa system, where as the such system is very popular in the other states of the country. He added that board has also re-constituted its members in the state and Haji Abdul Majid has been appointed the state in charge to inspect the proceeding of the activities of the board. He asked the state government to allow the Muslim Board to look out the affairs of the Waqf Board so that the money of the Waqf could be utilized for the welfare of the poor Muslims. While condemning the state government for implicating the Muslims in the false cases, he urged upon the government to release the innocent Muslims who are facing the sentences for their indulgence in the false cases. |
